Ship Construction and Repairing

P.I Transportation Co., Ltd began to build the Dry Dock named by "Shwe Na Gar Shipyard" on the 5.5. Acre-wide plot in Seik-Kyee-Khanaungto Township on the Yangon river bank opposite to Yangon and it was completed in 1998. In this Shwe Na Gar Dry Dock yard we construct coastal ships and inland-water-way ships.

In 2003, P.I Transportation Co., Ltd owned coastal ship M.V Shwe Thara Phu (204 ft in length; 26 ft in width and 18 ft in depth with loading capacity of dead weight 1400 tones) was built in the Shwe Na Gar Dry Dock. Our Ship Yard can build ships, each of which size is 250 ft in length; 39 ft in width, 18 ft in depth and has cargo loading capacity of 1750 tons. Moreover, we can also build inland-water-way cargo ships, inland-water-way passenger ships and burges which can carry up to 1000 tons of cargo.

As for conversion of ship, we can manage to construct for extension of depth of ships and lengthening the length of ships by cutting in mid ship, move the fore part of the ship to require extent on dock & adding new frames & shell plates to the Hull of the ships. At the same time we can manage to change the Hull structure of ships for Engine foundation.

For repairing and maintenance of steel hull ship, wooden hull schooner and fishing trawlers, we replace old and ruined frame and shell plate with new frames and shell plates. The dock also has inspection and repairing service for shafts, propellers and rudders as necessary.

During 2002, our shipyard established the Sand Blasting System, for scraping the old point of the ship, so that we can provide good quality painting service to meet the satisfaction of ship owners.
